Well I have had a bit of a result! I went to the Carole Nash Classic Bike Show this weekend just gone and got these: http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt27/rainmanshaun/Gold%20Flash/GFTankBadge.jpg

Not original of course but are made of some sort of cast metal and fit the curve of the side of the tank really well and the added bonus is that they are chrome which is just what I wanted to go onto the black tank (when its been re-sprayed) *smile*

Hi there - I got them at the show from a Trader known as "Bantam John" I don't have any details for him and he doesn't seem to have a web site he just seems to have a stand at all the big shows. He had to rummage around under the table to find these and the packaging was pretty tatty! I think he may have some gold coloured ones too. Best bet is to go to the next big show and track him down. if I do find out where he hangs out I will post details on the Forum.

Thanks for the info. I've dealt with him before. He supplied some fork bushes for the Fanny B. They were oil-light and no else did them. It took him about 2 months to find them - not what you would call modern customer services - he did say I wouldn't get them anywhere else and would have to wait and he was right. I will give him a ring in the morning.

Thanks

Stu.

Wow, looks great. How did you make them? Casting? CNC milling?

I cast them with an alloy of two different low melting point metals.

Took a while to get it just right !

I bet it did. Good job!
But could be a problem to get that shiny golden look, anodizing won't work with your alloy I suppose???

Brian, those are for the A65/50 side panels.

I just purchased a brand new set for my A10 Golden Flash from a company called " Overlander ", I think it was in Melbourne, great product and a reasonable price.

Terry,
I was looking at an old badge which has a splash of red on the back, possibly from when the badge was made.
At a guess it may be "Devon Red" as was used on many bikes.
I suppose it would fade to the flat maroon colour over time.
