Monobloc 376
« on: 04.02. 2010 05:35 »
Does anyone have a 376 Monobloc on a plunger A10 ? I need to confirm there is enough room between the top of the carby and the frame rail for the cables to come out at a reasonable angle.

I dont want to buy a new carby and then find out it wont fit !

Hi Brian,

I have a 376 on a 53 plunger frame.

The 376 fits, but you'll not be able to have cable adjusters on the top, furthermore you will have to remove the airfilter, the 376 does not fit the rubber boot and the carby will hit the top of the filter housing.

You'll have to cut the filter housing off the bracket.

Looks pretty sweet.

I would probably stick with the original if you have all the bits.

Have never played with a Type 6, but have found the 376 easy to use.

Thanks Josh, originality is not a concern and I have no intention of having a air filter box so thats not a problem. I could use a Concentric as I know they fit ok but I am not a great fan of concentrics, for this particular bike I would like to use a Monobloc.

I might see if I can get hold of a monobloc and see if I can use a different top that is lower, I might even be able to make a new top of a different design to get the height down.

The cable adjusters shouldn't be an issue as BSA didn't use them. They had top hat ferrules with adjusters in the cable.
