I think you will find that there were more than 8 SA Super Flashes made.
At least 19.

Hi Guys
I was lucky enough to find a set of engine case this past summer at a ralley in Ohio.  Then I have had really good luck with EBay.  I got an original brocher, tool box, oil tank and a fuel tank.  Mind you,  all the Ebay finds were mis-labelled.  I have alot of plunger spares the project is comung along nicely.  I am still looking for a proper frame so if anyone can help that would be awesome.  Thanks Jeff

Jfligg: Most of the resto pics for the green one can be found in my facebook album HERE Don't need to be a facebook user to view them...
The blue one is my old man's (Mike Reilly). He restored it 5+ years ago? And obviously I just finished the green one...

Wow! Great to see the steps to completion. The bikes look great together.

Would Superflash performance be similar to that of the Road Rocket?
What cam did the SF use?

When I saw this picture a while ago I thought the bike had been modernised with those chrome guards/fenders and folding kickstart lever. It's lovely!

An Australian  Super Flash was featured in December 1995 Classic Bike magazine,  a model also exported to Australia  was quoted as producing 40.8bhp at 6600 rpm when it left the factory.

The cam was from the Star Twin 67-356.

The article states around 700 Super Flashes were made for the US market with 8 going to Australia.
The frame is easily recognisable by the kink in the rear downtube to accommodate the TT carby.
1960 Super Rocket, owned since 1966, back on the road 2012 after being laid up for 29yrs.

So very similar output to the RR then. The above ad claim of 40 horses at the rear wheel seems unlikely, but a factory crankshaft dyno reading of 40.8 seems quite credible.
I suspect the sprung solo seats as on  BSANewbie's bikes would help with the plunger suspension ride quality. Was the sprung solo seat optional on the Super Flash?
