Just curious, Richard,
Did your rigid ever have the bottom chainguard?
I just bought a new pair for mine, if I ever get that far.

Richard,
The bottom run of the chain has it's own guard.
I will post pictures tomorrow after I get my bikes passed for registration.
Looks like we old blokes can still spring a surprise on you young blokes! Or is that we east coast blokes vs west coast.
The part numbers are - top: 67-7725, Bottom: 67-7765.

Trev,
The bacon book makes reference to an optional "enclosed" chain guard, which was also generally fitted to Police models ?.

I have new repro top and bottom chain guards for my 48 A7 rigid so I guess the A10 are the same.

If M20 rigid's have lower chain guards then I don't see why the A7 & A10 rigid's don't have then either.

Richard,
Here's the picture of the chainguards. I had them made so if you want the bloke's phone number let me know.
Josh,
The fully enclosed chainguard seems to have been fairly readily available from 1956 until the end of A7/A10 production. I have one on my 1962 Super Rocket. I have never seen one on the 1/2 width braked models.
I have seen parts of one that allegedly came from a plunger bike.

Hey Trev,
Can you please provide the phone no of the bloke who made the chainguards? I would like to get the bottom one.

Richard
