I am dreaming of my next project where a little old lady points to an old bike in a shed and says, " Im not sure if its a Rocket 3 or a Norton Commando but If I give you £20 will you take it away"....dream on!

These photos were taken about 6 months back when we started the strip down. Unfortunately, things were on hold till about 2 months back as my son Asheesh & I run an adventure holiday company doing motorcycling tours on the back roads of India & we were on safari up in Ladakh, the high Himalayas, in June & July. We use classic Enfield motorcycles, & you can access our web site at: www.ventureonwheels.in
Anyway, the restoration is back in full swing & we hope to have her up & running within a month. Big problem for spares here nowadays.

Yes theres more under the tarp. I have there a 1956 square 4, 1960 Super Rocket, a 1960 Norton Dommi,a 1936 MSS 500cc Velocette, a 1951 Norton International 500, etc

That'll keep me busy for a while. The SQ 4 & Norton have been restored some years back. Next up is the Super Rocket, which I rode back from the UK to India in 1965. Also rode her in 1964 from UK to Spain , Gibraltar, Morocco & across to Algeria, Tunisia & bac to UK.
Do Keep in touch. Do you do much touring on your bikes. Adding a photo of me crossing the salt flats in Turkey in 1965, & one of my SQ 4. Iam the guy up front riding, but you wont recognise me now fron this !!!!!!!! 25 kgs heavier

Hi Anji,

You have a nice stable of bikes, I am jealous!!
I must admit that after a long spell away from bikes I returned some 10 years ago to the Japanese superbike scene. Mid life crisis I suppose but still had my BSA A7 Shooting Star tucked away in bits and pieces. You can see the progress or lack of it on the New Member Melksham thread. I cant claim any long distance rides to compare with your epic journeys but I am promising myself a ride out on the BSA when it is finished to some old venues I used to frequent back in the 60's. Although the BSA is nearing completion I am on the look out for my next project. All donations gratefully accepted!

I have imagined going to India someday, but never, before now, have I wanted to so badly. Being on one of your tours would be magnificent.
