I'm looking to track down my grandad's Golden Flash CEK 758. DVLA has the bike on SORN, first registration August 1956, and last V5C issued 17.10.2014.
I didn't get to meet my grandad as he died in the early 80s. I got into bikes after the pandemic and, by all accounts, have ended up liking bikes as much as he did! It'd be a real pleasure to share what I know about the bike's history with whoever owns it now and especially to see it, if possible. I have a couple of photos, but very little else of my grandad's.
Whilst it's a bit of a longshot, his name was Harry Houghton. I know he sold the bike to a man who lived in Spencer's Lane, Orrell, Wigan, probably in the mid-60s. My mum recalls the buyer owning the bike for very many years, so it's possible that it hasn't travelled very far.
