G'day all,
a little side track. Combined age of you and your oldest bike ? Down here years ago at the classic races we would have a handicap race. The oldest away first. Jack Rudd won on a 192? Douglas he bought NEW. Combined age of about 150. Me 106

Hi All,
Its interesting and very welcome to see that a good proportion of owners are younger than their A series bikes
I am 3 years older than my 61SR and 5 older than the 63 RGS
When I was rebuilding the 61 SR I set myself a target to have it running while it was still 40,ie before the end of 2001.
I got some extra heaters and spent nearly all Christmas in the garage finally firing the bike up around 6oc on new years eve *smile*
Then of to a family party where we opened a presentation bottle of "Jameson " that had been given to my Father. I think that bottle of whisky goes for around ?300 here!!
I was on quite a high that night!!

On the combined age of me and my oldest bike I score 135 (yikes)
my 1925 Chater Lea being 84 and me being 51

Now lets add up all the ages of ALL our collection ???? ????

Cheers

I am 4 years younger than my A10's date of registration -1953, but I'm still running all my original parts (Though no longer in showroom condition *smile*) whereas the bike has had more transplant surgery than Frankenstein's  Monster.

 Well,

My bike is 51, and I am 38. I have gotten myself broken into odd pieces now and again, but never as many pieces as this bike. Unfortunately, some of its parts are in much better shape then most of mine, so I am hoping we can meet somewhere in the middle as far as reliability! ;)

I'm a 73 model, my bike is a 53 model.

My criteria for buying this bike were:
1) older than me,
2) lots of bling, and,
3) you can hear it before you see it.

My bike's a '55 but is having a face lift and boob job to masquerade next year as a '62 RGS. Me, I'm a '41 model, still with the ringing of bombs in my ears or is that due to the wind noise in my helmet as I play Rockers on the A38? Alan.

I'm younger than my oldest bike and older than my youngest.
There are seven.
Their average age is 2 years younger than me.
If I add my one proper 4-wheeler, the total age goes up to 437.
If I add a daily driver 4 wheeler which is still new by comparison (but is a heap of shite for all that), the total age rises to 479 and the average age of the nine vehicles, their 22 wheels, their 12 carburettors and their 21 pistons is 53.
Which I was, until I had a birthday. There's always something that screws the symmetry.
But it's a comfort to know it'll all change in a few weeks.

Groily, I think that was a question in my "O grade" maths paper.
