Am I getting wrong bearings?
« on: 31.12. 2024 12:45 »
Does the sleeve gear with spline for sprocket have to be pressed into bearing?

I got 1 main bearing from a well known source, did not fit and got another 1 from another well known good source and does not slide onto the sleeve gear.
Wondering if it has to be pressed in and thought it would just slide in with only the bearing required to be pressed into the case!

Hi BD
They are usually an easy "tap" fit, I have never needed a press
Heating the case is the best method of fitting and removing bearings.
I buy bearings from local industrial / agricultural supply shops
