Brake throttle & choke cable runs

After a recent post that identified a problem with the speedometer cable run I have been through my cable runs that I am sure are not ideal.  suggestions for improvements are welcome.

Brake
From the RHS handlebar
Down passing in front of headstock
Down from the RHS of the headstock crossing over to the rear of RHS fork leg
Top entry to brake plate

This is causing the paint to rub off the mudguard


Throttle
From the RHS handlebar down to centre of front A piece on frame
Through gap above steering  damper bracket
Passing LHS of tank rubber mounts holder
Passing LHS of head stays
Top of the carb

Choke
From the RHS handlebar
Around front of headstock
Below tank rubber mounts holder
Through middle of tank stays
Top of carb

Passing the LHS of head stays

Speedo
From the gearbox
Between frame and RHS downpipe

Hi JHG,
It looks to me that your front brake cable is too long
I aim to fit them all down the rhs as straight a run as possible. An eye can be made and fitted to the bottom yoke clamping bolt as a guide if needed

I get through a lot of the rubber cable tidies.  You can do them loose or tight and take them of and move them until you get a good arrangement.  They are original fit and in the parts book as 66-9049 with 15 shown! I don't think I've used 15 even with every conceivable cable tied down

I've got to the point where I make all my own cables. Pattern ones are often incorrect. If you aren't using the original levers and handlebars, all the angles will be wrong, etc. etc. I've used the rubber type cable ties as Limeyrob but the ones supplied cheaply are very brittle, and the others are incredibly expensive and still don't last forever.

I've found the same, so I stick with the ubiquitous cable ties. Not attractive but they work.

Hello JHG,
just an idea for the front brake cable to avoid scratching the paint of the mudguard (also referring to Chaterlea in his post). Take some stainless steel sheet metal and cut, drill, bend and polish it like I did on my GF - maybe not original but helpful.

I bought an OIF A65 new in 1972.  In 2 years the front brake cable wore though the chrome on the front mudguard so this has been an original BSA feature for many years
