Hi there am looking for a Lucas Bs1C 34A (?) 41sa FR1 351744 switch. The back has broken. Not sure about the numbers, quite hard to read, and also an airbox for the amal carb ??the pervious owner told he he took it off so he could cover it with his hand to stop the motor ??.Asked the local german MOT guys and they were having none of it,so I´m searching for one..if anyone has either to sell,I´be more than happy(although I have no idea what this airbox looks like).thank you-steve

Hi Steve... The air filter boxes usually go for quite a bit of money, most A7 & A10 owners have the chrome pancake type which is cheaper and easier to fit, normally they just screw on, although your carb would need an adapter first as there are no threads. Picture below shows an original type of air filter box.

New ones are available on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BSA-A7-A10-AIR-FILTER-42-4582_W0QQitemZ370273987458QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=95fa38101240a0aad312ceb2ff7bce39

As for the switch... I'm also looking for a replacement... and again.. these can be bought new, although I'm looking for a rough old one, cheap.

Good Luck!

Thank you again for your help..this rebuild is costing far more than I planned for, however the engine and gearbox should go into the frame next week.I´ve sanded off the rust on all the main mounting bolts, but they still look old and used-yes.Its been intense, but worth it,however having terrible trouble with the german tick test..thought it would be a piece of cake...

Hi Steve... Your carb is neither a 600 or 900, it is probably a 376 or 389. Have a look at the model number on the flange, you can see my spare one in the photo is a 389 and would be for a super rocket as it has a slightly larger bore. The carb fitted on my Blue A10 is a 376 which is usual for a standard compression basic motor. The bits n' bobs photo shows a brass adaptor for fitting the pancake filter, unfortunately it is threaded and would be no good to you. What sort of air filter were you hoping for? the black box original type in previous photos or the cheaper chrome pancake ones? You could opt for just a bell mouth unfiltered type like my spare one here. Good Luck!

P.S. Either carb would work on your bike... I'm wondering if I'd achieve any real additional benefit from fitting the 389 in place of the 376, can anyone advise please?
