Hi all,
Just joined though I have followed for years on and off.
I've been riding for most of my life and have owned quite a variety of bikes over the years, though I've wanted another classic for a while so picked up this '51 A7 rigid about a week ago. Not my first BSA, had a few ('54 A7ss, '41 M20, C10 & 11 and a bantam). I also ride a modern Harley which my very kind wife gifted me for Christmas back in '17.
Spent many years swinging spanners in bike shops back in N.Z. before moving to Aus. around 8 years ago as well.
Ive alway's been impressed by the knowledge shared by the members of this forum and the general atmosphere, so thought it was time to jump on board.

37k with not a single issue, the tractor runs sweet. To old to ride a sports bike.
It's actually my third tractor and they've all been extremely reliable, I don't get into the whole scene though - as long as the wheels go around It's all good.
This A7 marks my 27th ( I think ) bike, but that's what happens when you're a bike mechanic I guess.

Where did you find your wife, I need one like that!  No tractors though, not a fan!  Maybe one of those new Triumph Rocket 3s??

She's one in a million alright mate.
I've had three of the late Rocket 3's, worked for a Triumph dealership back in N.Z.
They're impressive and very easy to ride.
We got t boned on the last one by a drunk driver. It only had 1100 ks on it, smashed the left side of the engine block right out. Lucky to still have a left foot.
Wife not so lucky, 6 broken ribs and a broken shoulder blade! She still rides with me though 🤙

Yowch, that's not nice.  My wife will ride out with me, but a bit more hard work on the romantic side (I'm not naturally a 'flower buyer').  

My sister lives out in Manjimup (about 300km from Perth I think), and my sons did a month tour of WA and the Gold Coast back in Jan/Feb.  They loved it, but were stunned at the size of the country.

We have a number of Aussie forumites on here, I think one's in Busselton and Muskrat is over somewhere east in the back of beyond (many 'back of beyonds' in Oz).

We're obviously coming up to winter here, 5C this morning.  Many of us hibernate over the cold and dark nights, so often not too much activity.  Keep watching though, something may happen

Yeah Australia is a massive place alright, takes a bit of getting used to.
Everything is so spread out, not like home (N.Z.) at all.
I've been here eight years and still miss home, I'll move back one day.
You are correct,  it is supposed to be spring at the moment though we hit 38 degrees centigrade at work a couple of days ago.
I used to work up the top near Marble bar and went through a couple of 54 degrees summers, those were brutal.
I miss the cold of home, though in New Zealand we ride year round rain hail or shine. 🤣😎🤙
