There is a problem at the moment with the supply of decent replacement seats for swinging arm A10's. I have always used RK Leighton for seats but, for quite a while, he has been saying that he can't get hold of decent quality new seat bases. If you have your own original base, no problem, but they are often so rotten that they're beyond repair. Wassells seem to have run out of seats for the same reason. Seats I've bought from Wassells have always been good. I didn't have a seat for my Road Rocket so I looked on Ebay and bought one from India. It's OK, but not great and doesn't look quite right. So I bought another which wasn't much better, but acceptable. I then came across T.J.Wassell Eng. who sells as 'aztec53' on Ebay. T.J.Wassell is not the same Wassell who we all know and love! T.J. Wassell seems to have been in and out of business in the midlands selling spares for as long as the other Wassells. The picture of the seat on Ebay looked very good so I thought I'd risk it as, if wasn't good (described as 'Beautifully made replacement seat') I could send it back. When it arrived I was dead chuffed, it matched the picture and description, and would say it is much better than the Indian ones and looks right on the bike. It was also remarkably similar to seats I have bought from Wassells in the past. It also had a made in UK sticker on it which I suppose doesn't mean much, but you never know! 'fairdeals2017' (Phoenix Motorcycle Spares), also based in the midlands but obviously sellers of Indian made stuff appear to sell the same seat (judging by the picture) as 'aztec53'. As both of these firms are based in the UK there is less risk as Ebay will always support the buyer. The post '60 seat is also available from the same suppliers. We can't expect an 'as original' seat for £140.00 but I can only say I was really pleased with it and next time I post a picture of the bike you can judge for yourselves! p.s. Anybody want a cheap seat for a 54-59 A10, I've got a couple of Indian ones spare!
