So, my final drive chain and sprockets were looking a bit past their best so I decided it was time for a new set. This is a job which I have done hundreds of times on various bikes, but never on the A before. I expected it to take a couple of hours to swap them out.
Well I have just finished my second full day on the job and the bike is still not rideable. Surely BSA did not design a bike which required so much work just to do what should be routine maintenance? Or am I missing a secret hatch or something which allows access to the gearbox sprocket without having to dismantle and remove the whole primary side and clutch? (never mind the the several hours it took to get the seized clutch hub off).
Actually, if there is a much easier way, don't tell me. I am not sure that I want to know!
