Tool Talk

Worty bemoaned the cost of replacement batteries for cordless tools. Both my Silverline NiCad old skool drill and Ryobi LiIon power packs will no longer accept charge, the drills work fine but the cost of genuine replacement battery packs is almost the same as new drills. But the alternative non genuine battery knock offs look attractive. YouTube is full of well dodgy fixes, eg mig welder flash onto NiCads ......or bypassing the control board to boost a discharged pack back to a level that will accept charge. Not for me, I want something that will work.

Bearing in mind all of this stuff comes halfway round the world and the root source is possibly the same, are these copies worth a punt?

I bought these a few years ago for my Dewalt tools -still going strong and a third of the price of "genuine" batteries
