I'm sure turquoise wasn't an original factory option. Generally interiors are black or grey so as not to distract from viewing the instruments in poor light conditions. Otherwise not too bad an instrument layout considering there is a radar scope to contend with.

I reckon the picture has been tweaked. The blue colour is probably less vibrant.

(Yeah I know, they only crash once, and all that ;) )

I don't know about Soviets but the 'Duck Egg Blue' was a traditional colour for Western aviation equipment in 50's - 70's.

More like 40s. The ancient things I spent a while flogging around in were black or grey inside. The turquoise in that Mig 21 strains my eyes.
