Piston ring compressor

Can anyone recommend a pair of piston ring compressors for the A10.
I only have a car type ring compressor.

G'day Iain.
Make your own.
I use 90mm poly pipe and hose clamps. Cut a 1,1/2" piece off the pipe then cut it, wrap it around piston & mark to get the right length (1/4" gap is best). Once the rings are set in position and oiled wrap the pipe around and compress with the hose clamp till tight then back off till the pipe can just be rotated. Push the barrels down till well over the rings, undo the hose clamp completely and remove the clamp & pipe over the barrel skirt so not to damage the piston. I also cut a nylon cutting board to fit under the piston skirt to hold them still. Job done.

If you can find them, the Terry ring compressors work well. Just make sure that you get the right diameter set.

I got a pair of Terry clones off e-bay last week.  Look OK but thicker metal so not to up to the original quality but will do the job.

Not wanting to get off topic  *whistle*
The 4 long studs makes it easier to lower the barrels square to the pistons. The A7 plunger has the modified (through bolted) top end off the old 57 A7SS racer when I converted the racer to the A10 Cafe.

I guess I was the one confused, though, it’s not exactly obvious on first look that those are just alignment studs. How many through- bolts are used with the modified head? Oh,  BTW, how ‘bout them ring compressors? *smile* ;)

The 4 studs do make taking the ring compressors off a little more difficult.
The 4 studs were introduced when the racer had a problem lifting the top end off the cases. Thin flange barrels and 14:1 compression don't mix *eek* The 4 outside head bolt holes in both the head and barrels are moved out 1/2 a hole.
