G'day Fellas.
Last w/end I drove the Ranger to the United Tourers Xmas party. A few bits of dirt/gravel and on the way home I heard a bit of a clicking noise when I hit the brakes (bloody roos & wombats). Thinking it was a stick or stone caught in the brakes I removed both front wheels this morning. Nothing apparent. Drove to work with both windows down. Sound seems to be behind me. On closer inspection I found one end of an oky strap had fallen off the headboard and was hitting the back of the cab when breaking  . Now booked in for new tyres and wheel alignment on Friday. Front left down to the canvas

I luv'em but I replace them as soon as they show signs of wear. The new ones have thick plastic coating on the hook and retain the strap a lot better.

First, I don’t think anyone calls the adventure experience occy, stretchy or twangy jumping, so I’ll stick with “bungy.” I now think I get the point, the loose end was clicking against the rear window, making you think it was something much worse, and it has nothing to do with your tires going bad, other than making you discover it. Can’t help you with the tires, but I could send you a new bungy.

I remember those octopus things, but they weren't single cords but half a dozen fixed at a central point, hence octopus.
Haven't seen one in years though.
