G'day Fellas.
Yes you can still get the "Occy" straps, I have a set somewhere. I've got dozens of singles around the place.
Yes it was the loose end hitting the rear cabin wall.
New tyres on, what a difference in ride. Hope they last longer than the original Bridgestone's (35,000Km).
Cheers

G'day Fellas.
Last w/end I drove the Ranger to the United Tourers Xmas party. A few bits of dirt/gravel and on the way home I heard a bit of a clicking noise when I hit the brakes (bloody roos & wombats).

There’s an obvious answer here mate. If you ditch it .. more room & more money for another bike.

That does seem low for the Bridgestone, we've just had a client go the other way based on poor mileage and punctures they were getting on the Maxxis, but that was in a rural delivery application, Maxxis is a very good brand with some very good products

G'day Fellas
Another BUGGA yesterday.
Rode the A7 to work then down the road to Bunnings after work. Car with trailer in front decided to turn right but had no brake or blinker lights. I locked the old girl up and hit at about fast walking pace. No damage to bike or me. Lucky the car behind saw my brake light, I could have been the meat in a sandwich.

Phew Musky.  :o :o

When I was despatch riding 40 years' ago, I slowed down and stopped to join a queue at some roadworks (just outside Leamington Spa).  I waited for a moment, directly behind the car in front, before deciding to pull over to the verge and radio in to save time.  Within seconds, a car ploughed into the car I'd been behind at a fair rate of knots, just didn't see the queue I reckon.  Another couple of cars then rear ended him and there was chaos.  Ironically, when all the drivers jumped out, a couple of them came over to me and asked if I was Police as I had a green reflective jacket and a radio - ended up taking details as a witness and reporting to the insurance companies.  Ever since then, when I come up to a queue, I make sure I ride past the first few cars before stopping (if I can't get all the way past, of course).  Reckon I'd have been meat paste had I not pulled over - either that or both me and the bike would have been considerably shorter. :o :o :o :o

musky a few months ago i was on over run in 3rd gear about 20feet behind a boy racer and we were doing about 20 miles an hour down a minor road. the boy racer with twin chimney sized exhausts who had his boom boom music on that was louder than my meggas on full chat suddenly decided to stop because he had seen his mate coming along the road towards him. his mate had to stop behind a row of parked cars on his side of the road to let us come .  this pillock in front of me decided to slam on his super brakes and talk to his mate. i slammed on and locked the back wheel but ended up having to divert  to the left near the curb to avoid hitting him, the outcome was my little mirror that i fixed to the headlamp bracket and only sticks out an inch or so more than the clip on bars  hit his car just below the rear window on his rear wing. it bent my 4 inch long 1/4 inch fixing bolt and scraped his paint. he was so much into conversation with his mate and his boom boom music  that he didn't even know and neither did his bird who was in there with him and he drove off and so did i  *whistle*

Hi Musky and Berger, Glad you both survived. *good3* I think the inattentiveness is definitely getting worse. People want to tailgate without any thought. Road safety Authorities recommend a 2-second gap, but most see it as a gap to pass into. I read yesterday that Australia has the most impatient drivers. I must admit to being a nervous rider on the highways.

Impatient? - READ: Selfish!

Impatient is accurate and polite, selfish is the brutal reality.  We've all come across total a**es on the road - best avoid than tangle with if you can.

Bugga bugga bugga.
Seems when I had my little bingel on Sat I lost my phone. Must have come out of my breast pocket. Deb tried to ring it but must have a dead battery. Done the backtrack, phoned (with work phone) all the places I'd been and some I haven't and the cops.
I'm not worried about the phone just the sim with all my contacts.  *pull hair out*

BUGGER Musky! There's no justice is there eh?
Dunno about "threes", but it does seem as though sometimes we have 'runs' of bad luck, and also good luck.
