Amusing Ride out... (Pics)

Nice day for a ride out in spite of it being quite cold all day... I took myself to see a Model Railway Exhibition as I'd not been to one of these in years, the lengths that some modellers go to to achieve their aim is amazing! So! left home on the Star Twin only to find some terrible heavy traffic and contraflows with millions of bollards...



Just to keep the thread on topic... I saw some classic motorcycles out and about today, here is a combination, bit far to see what it was...



Passing the bus depot there was some guy waving for assistance but I was on the other side of the railway so could not help...



But passing by the station was this strange three wheeler van possibly an M20 powered vehicle of some sort!



Just could not help looking down the embankment at these girls nude sunbathing! Blimey I bet their nips were cold... Must keep eyes on road!



How about this then? Something you don't see every day now... A horse that had collapsed and died as it tried to make a run before the gates shut!



Well... Eventually getting to the Model Railway Hall I found some really good layouts! Wonder if I should sell my bikes and become miniaturised?



There was a selection of bikes for sale complete with riders! BSA A10's maybe?



Finally with all the Trains reaching their destinations it was time to kick start the bike and make for home... A sadness on the way as here the Star Twin is parked on a bygone level crossing! The clues are still there to show where the track went...

Very interesting ride out. I can only assume that, by being close up to the boat, you were able to detect a box of sweets that does not show well in your photo but might look something like this...

Richard... I dared not look close into the boat as the Missus was watching me too closely. Looking for sweets would not have been an acceptable excuse.

It would be good if you could post a couple of pics of the Nullabor after your trip.
aspecially the 300 foot cliffs at the edge.
Don't know about the others but I can forgive you if there isn't a beesa in the shot(s).

How about a couple of shots of Tampere. To me its just a dot on a lake on a map.

and Bill, show us what a haggis looks like, and in return I'll post a photo of myself in fishnets.

Haggis - a mixture of oatmeal, onion,mutton and offal (liver,kidney, heart and so on) and various spices usually kept a secret by the makers, packed in a sheeps stomach, this ones in a plastic skin though.

All I can say is I am glad I live in Australia with a diet of steak and beer. If I go any further I would offend any Scottish members.

Olev, that would be Storey bridge with Kangaroo Point underneath. I lived under that bridge for a few months in the seventies, very noisy however the Storey Bridge Hotel was only a couple of hundred yards up the hill..........................

If you are in the land-o-Vegemite you should hardly complain about Haggis or other Scot's products. There are several liquids from the highlands and lowlands that are particularly tasty.

We can only imagine what was going on in your cave under the bridge in the seventies. I know what was going on in my cave and it won't be shared here.

Thanks for that. I had no idea what they looked like. and now I know.
This forum has an incredibly diverse range of people as its members. While the common thread is BSA parrallel twins, some of the chat and photos make it seem more like a family.
For instance the photos of Anji in the Turkish desert and Orabanda on the farm are brilliant. snapshots in time they shared with us which makes me regret the lack of photos from my younger wilder days.
and LJ, the photos of your trip with the arresting Emma were great. If Groily or Snowbeard would post some pics of France and Portugal it might change our retirement travel plans.
and a postscript to your haggis: To be honest it looks like a balloon full of sh*t and from your list of ingredients probably tastes worse.
Is that why kilts ar are worn? After eating one of those you wouldn't have time to get the undies off.

Well, you learn something new every day! I always thought that the haggis was a creature about the size of a small dog, with tartan fur, and two legs on one side shorter than the two on the other side. This was so they could walk along the side of a steep hill (which is their prefered grazing ground).  Now, if you want to catch one, you have to get close enough to poke it with a long stick so it rolls down the hill, and once at the bottom it will then walk around in circles due to it`s different length legs, therefore making it easy to put it in a bag and take it home!
 I think Bill`s picture must be an `oven ready` example 

ps   they actually taste quite good
