Hating to swim upstream but putting someone else’s post code in the petition is perversion of the democratic system. If the people in Wales want a reduction in the speed limit then they should have it (and apparently they do) Other nations in this country should not interfere.
In my opinion main roads should remain 30mph unless they pass sensitive locations such as schools. I would agree that driving at 20mph is pain in the ass but other users of or transport system would think this pain for motorists is worth paying.

Couple of things there, John. Two thirds of the Welsh voting population voted
against the plans, but the arrogant t**ts that are the Labour govt ignored them and went against the majority anyway. Secondly, I don't believe one iota that 'democracy' exists in any meaningful form. To me, it's just another way of fooling the proletariat into thinking that their vote will make any real difference (too many believe it does). Thirdly, being part of the UK, I think people who have relatives in Wales and/or travel there regularly should have a say.
As I've said before, speed limits do not indicate a safe speed, they merely represent an arbitrary figure that authorities can use to prosecute without the need for subjective decision making. In some 30mph zones, 50-60mph is perfectly safe providing you're looking at the road and not at the phone. In others, 20mph could be too fast.
I do agree with the member of this forum who has a strapline that says, "Rules are meant for the guidance of wise men, and the obedience of fools."
I don't trust or respect so-called 'democracy', authorities, big business, the Police or anyone else that tries to remove my freedom to make sensible decisions. Yes, I suppose you could say that laws are there to rein in the nutters, but let's try a modicum of commonsense eh (oh, but we're not allowed to do that anymore)
