I didn't ride my bike today because I feel like s**t from a ferkin rotten cold. However, after dosing up on codeine and ibuprofen, I tackled the first part of the replacement shower job. This also meant replacing the pull cord - how much of a
job is that. Really thick cables (6 or 10mm??), no room, shallow pattress box and very little room in the ceiling cavity - took me about two hours for that job alone (had to have a lie down in the middle of it all). Next is to see whether I can crack the tiles drilling new holes, then having to add more plumbing to get the water connected, then finding my electrics are too short
After that, I am going to whip the clutch cover off the Dubya and check the plates and springs to see if it's that that's responsible for the weird clinking noise. I've also had a couple more 'clutch slip' moments, which I also don't like. New friction plates and slightly heavier springs coming my way. Apparently, this is the only real weak point of the Dubyas. Don't know what else it could be as the bike's performance is unaffected by the noise, it ticks over really nicely, and there are no noises when it's stationary with the motor running??
