I did - 220m to the east coast and back, although it was a Kwaka ride as the weather was a bit rubbish.

G'day Fellas.
I was hoping to go for a ride in between showers. Went to wash my hands and had no water in the shed. Bugga the pump pooed itself. A quick visit to work (we sell pumps) I bought a small one (half a weeks pay  *doh* https://tinyurl.com/m5xtp6wm) then spent the rest of the day plumbing it in. Got a shower when a poly fitting burst. 3 trips to Bunnings for bits because they don't stock the original fittings I used. All done and flicked the switch. BUGGA more leaks.
Then the auto gate opener decided it didn't like the rain  *pull hair out*
Time for a few drinks. Tomorrow is another day.
At least it took my mind off the A7 electrickal problem.
Cheers

G'day Fellas.
Back at the plumbing early. Had to go up to Bathurst Bunnings for bits. Got it finished then noticed a leak at the fitting into the tank (bl@@dy poly fittings)  *sad*. Will need to drain the 5000 Lt to fix that one and then prey for rain  *pull hair out*
Drowning my sorrows now.
Cheers

My battle with the Octy driveshafts is completed now. *fight*  I think my mistake originally was not cleaning the threads of grease and not using VAG original bolts *doh* *doubt* *conf2*, although they were torqued up.  I also think using the orginal grease gaskets wasn't the best idea as I think they broke up and helped loosen the bolts. *dunno*  Apparently, the dealership say they don't use the gaskets in that job any more.  Anyhow, I made sure the threads were ultra clean, as was everything else, light application of Loctite Red, bolted up to torque (45Nm), and left to dry for 3 days. *ex* *ex*  I even put a dab of superglue on the heads for good measure (don't know if that'll make any difference).  Went for a test drive at 7.30am (Sunday morning) as Sue needed the car early.  All seems solid and it drives as it did before.  I did mark the bolts with permanent, green pen, and will check for movement at the next oil change (2000m time). *bright idea* *bright idea*

Sue just called to say it drives like new. *woo* *woo*  She also said a 'lag' in power she noticed before has disappeared.  Wondering if the computer detected a problem in some way and went into limp mode, maybe because of a slight discrepancy between engine revs and wheel revs. *dunno2* *dunno2*

That is why I didn't ride my bike this week *ex* *beer* *beer* *beer*

Haven't seen duTch around for a while, anyone know if he's ok?

Bergs for PM - THEN we'll see some changes :o :o :o *good3* *good3*

Might end up as a new thread, but I'm thinking:

1.  Motorcycles to use bus lanes and hard shoulders at any time.
2.  Blanket £20 annual tax on all bikes under 40 years old regardless of size (£111 for a 650 Kwaka is stupid).
3.  Variable speed limits for bikes with offences based on proven bad driving only.
4.  Front facing speed cameras only - abolition of 'ambush cameras' (mobile units).
5.  All bike collisions with vehicles with more than two wheels to be deemed the other driver's fault unless proven otherwise.
6.  Optional helmet wearing for riders with 10 years or more of continual riding experience.
7.  Blanket exemption for all charges relating to parking, tolls, ULEZ schemes, restricted roads, monitored car parks, etc.
8.  Law requiring motorcycles to be given priority status on all roads.
9.  Reduction in VAT on all parts for motorcycles over 40 years old.

Other suggestions welcome. *good3* *good3* *good3*

G'day Fellas.
Yesterday I went down to Pine Grove cemetery to throw a good mate of 45 years in a hole. He was only 64 and just didn't wake up in the morning two weeks ago. Only the week before I had lunch and beers with him. RIP HUEY

I've been continuing to 'rationalise' my shed in preparation for our house move. I wheeled the bike out so I could get at the shelving. As I fill up a strong box with tools and tins of paint and whatever I've been able to dismantle a section of metal shelving. Lots of stuff is getting taken to the local municipal tip where they run a charity shop. I'm enjoying flogging stuff on eBay. I'll add a picture of a railway boundary post that I have just sold on eBay. The post came home with me after a dog walk on a disused railway track.

G'day Fellas.
I spent 1,1/2 days in the shed. First to get the HD ready for next weekends 1800Km ride. I needed to remove the carb (CV40) to tweak the mixture. A gentle tap with a plastic dead blow hammer smashed the plastic top of the carb. That was Saturday arvo after work so retreated inside for multiple beers and bourbons.
Sunday realized I won't get the HD ready in time I turned my attention to rHonda. She hadn't had a service since the top end rebuild about 5000Km ago so it was the "full Monty". All good but with a comp test she's down about 10-15 lbs down on 2 & 3. 195, 185, 180, 195 did the old add a bit of oil to see if it's rings or valves, definitely rings. So I've enriched the two inside carbs by 1/2 turn on the pilot. I know it won't fix it but I hope she does the trip.
Looks like a nice day today so the plunger will take me to work.
Cheers
