Why didn't you ride your bike today?
« on: 21.07. 2023 11:26 »
I had been planning to ride up to Derbyshire today for one of the BSAOC weekends. I thought, that as the weather forecast for the next few days shows lots of rain, what the heck, I don't need this. 😉

Same here. It's a nice area they're having it in but like you say it looks like it's going to be a total washout.

Was planning to, but potential rain put me off. Can't stand the thought of my bike getting wet. :( Bit of a sook I know.

It is one of my favourite places to ride.

Jeez man, you would have needed to set off a bit sooner to get to Derbyshire for this weekend. 🤔

I have sold my house and I am moving to Shropshire so my bike is in storage until I move into the new house.  It sucks being temporary accommodation.

Hi All,
I have spent all week moving lathes *ex*
The new to me Colchester is about 18 inches longer than the older one ,
I sold a smaller Harrison a few weeks ago that was a lightweight compared to the Colchesters which are approx 1.3 and 1. 4 tonnes *eek*
I got some "box rollers" and a pallet jack plus help from my brother.
We moved the old  lathe into the space where the Harrison sat,  manouvering it around the Mill with a lot of swearing and sweat!!   I made a boo boo when the truck landed the new one on the sloped drive up to the workshop, facing it the wrong way round, so it had to be carefully turned 180 before winching it up the slope
In the middle of all this I was giving it a right good cleaning. It's now landed a few feet from final position  so I can  attend to some paintwork and final wiring up
No wonder I'm tired *ex* *ex*

G'day Fellas.
I went to the local footy (Rugby League) field to watch the grandsons play for Lithgow Storm. U11's lost, U12's draw, U13's won boy got 3 tries & 1 goal, U14's won, U15's won the boy's first game back after a broken eye socket 6 weeks ago.
Now I'm home looking at the Cafe carbs. Looks like the left hand choke (enricher) wasn't sealing. Brasso at the ready.
Cheers

Rocket's laid up at the moment with the front brake away at the experts to try and get the bike to stop without having to give notice of intent to slow down.

G'day Fellas.
Haven't been able to do much in the shed as I've had to disconnect the power for the builder to put up the new carport. He didn't like working around 240v.
3 days to get it up but the shed mob sent the wrong barge cap. I spent today doing the plumbing and secure the power wire.
Tomorrow I'll prep the HD for a ride down to Araluen for the Hat Rally, about 600Km.
Cheers

G'day Richard.
Thanks M8, it'd wanna be for the $$$. It won't fall down in a hurry and engineered to hold 3 foot of snow *eek* I can now put both cars under cover and still get bikes in & out of the shed. The boys recon a great party area.
Cheers
