I’ve been lurking here for a while thinking of using my A10 a bit more so today I’ve got it on the bench and had a look, it’s a 57/and according to the logbook it’s a flash but it’s in RR trim. Alloy head and rev so it looks the part. I haven’t used it for a while but when I did just after I bought it , it seemed to go well, the front brake though, the full width ally job scared me so I parked it until now.
I’m fortunate to have a Commando fetish so that’s kept me going and busy!
It’s on 6v electrics which is ok for me
The mag needs looking at which I will do, and a general check over and hopefully that’s it.
The engine is stamped ca 10r and has the letters hhc below it
The frame starts ea7 so I’m assuming it is an A7 frame.
Either way I’m happy enough with it and just want a usable bike.
I will have to get a side stand, it has a bracket around the frame, it doesn’t seem be threaded though.

Good of you to join us.
All frames (except RGS) are stamped A7 even the A10's.
Engine CA10R is a Road Rocket.

Thanks for that, at least that’s one issue gone. It’s my third A10, I got my first at 16 but didn’t have a clue, then got into Norton Commandos and I’ve had them since. The other A10 was a RGS copy which I sold to my brother. Looking forward to making this a useable bike

Got a spark today after gapping the points and put the carb through the ultrasonic bath. Waiting for a new battery to arrive tomorrow as well. If the BSA god smiles it’s be running tomorrow. The clutch seems locked up, so a clean and strip is on the cards

Great to hear  *yeah*
It may not be the clutch. If you pull the clutch lever in and still cant move the kick lever it could/would be the kickstart quadrant and pinion jamming. A common problem.

I've not looked but you will probably find posts on the forum describing twin leading shoe brake conversions, which is quite a popular upgrade.
