G'day Jase.
Might be time to throw a new carb at it.
Best thing I ever did with my A7 plunger.
Cheers

Can't stretch to a new pre-monobloc but might have a punt on a PWk or similar. I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm chasing my butt with this one. Any suggestions on what would fit and work?
Cheers guys

G'day Jase.
I bit the bullet and put a new Premier Concentric on her. Not cheap but I'm very happy.
DON"T get a cheap Chinese knock off of the PWK. Get the JRC PWK https://www.jrcengineering.com/technical-support/jrc-pwk-carb-instructions/
Down the bottom of that page says 30mm for A10 but measure the port size of the head. A 26mm or 28mm might be better.
Cheers

Just remembered that someone a while ago posted about a bloke who does a great job of repairing worn out pre monoblocs, I'm hoping I can find that thread again for his number to have a natter with him see if it's worth a punt.

Edit: i've just remembered I took a screenshot of the post, uncharacteristically sensible of me!

He is/was good too, but I have been told he no longer takes on work so best check first.
Then there's Martyn Bratby who does the same carb resleeving work.

Martyn has been ill but I think he's working again. He was a toolmaker so his work is first class.

My plunger has the big valve super rocket head spitfire cam etc and a 30mm concentric and although I dont hold it flat out it does go over 100 mph relatively easily. I cloocked it against a hiabusa thing as I did have much faith in my speedo and he clocked us at 104. Thats without laying down on the tank etc so they do still go ok for sure. Whether it would go any faster I dont know because I ran out of road but jesus it lets you know you are on a bike the way it bounces when you hit a bump for sure. I have toyed with the idea of fitting dampers on it (have seen it done before) but I think it would just spoil the looks.

Sorry to upset the purists but it does have a disc front brake set up to make sure I can stop the damned thing

Ok, a bit of an update...
Messed around with the points a bit, ran ok for a mile or 4 then the thing started misfiring badly so limped home and had another look. Swarfy suggested that the points spring might be kissing the cam ring causing the misfire, which reminded me that I'd modded the points last year to give the spring a little more clearance. So checked this, took the points out and replaced them after checking that the fixed end was right at the end of my modded (elongated) slot. Bike ran well yesterday, no faster but no misfire. Today, bloody misfiring badly again after travelling about 4 miles. So I stopped on the side of the road and stripped the points out again, checked the spring position etc, put it back together, no start, not even a cough!!!
An hour lateran several attempts at setting up, Im about to call the AA and think to just check that the little figure 8 plastic insulator was still in place... nope, it had dropped out without me noticing and was lying just by the crankcase breather hole. Retrieved, rebuilt, limped hone on 1 1/2 cylinders.
Dropped the whole points assembly out as I'd noticed some movement in the pivot pin that the points heel moves on. Took the assembly to bits put the back plate in a vice and tapped some centre punch marks into the rear of the pin, tightened it up nicely. Been fir the best 70 mile ride I've had since owning the bike, pulls so much more strongly, overtaking cars up a very steep hill, only got it to 70ish mph but I think if Id had a decent road to play on and a couple of bravery pills it would've got to 80+.
Got home and checked the plugs which were both quite sooty so I'll   have a mess with the jetting next I think.
So need a new set of points before these give up again.
These are what's fitted, anyone know who stocks them? I've tried Priory Mags web page and ebay but no luck.

Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions
