BAck when our bikes were made  the battery plates were 2.5mm thick
Now days they are 0.5 mm thick so fall off the busbars with the smallest amount of provocation.
If 1/3 or more on the plates are no loner connected, the battery will fully charge then drop like a stone when any power is draw off .
