Hi Guys, thought I would share a picture of this 'bad boy' I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I must say i cannot believe how lucky I have been.
I was bidding for it at an auction but was outbid before the auction ended. However when I found out it didn't sell I called the auction up and managed to buy it for less than I had bid. Of course I thought there's something wrong here, but I got it home and it is absolutely top drawer original and un-messed with.
The only mods are a set of tiny indicators and a remote oil filter. Anyway, I looked at it for 2 days before I thought 'maybe should try to start it?'. I put some fuel in the tank, drained the sump, put the choke on, retarded the timing, freed the clutch and gave it a kick. It started first kick and sat ticking over like a good un. I couldn't believe it.
There is not a rattle or squeak off it. Also to my surprise I got 2 boxes of stuff with it, 1 box of spares and 1 box of paperwork going back to day 1 in 1958. A lovely touch is the shell book the first owner filled in with every gallon of fuel bought and mileage travelled. I'm afraid my 61 Flash is going to the back of the 'attention queue'.
