Hi, I've overhauled and installed my 1 1\16 276 (new Amal production) RH float (as original for the GF), and all seems well this time, apart from some leaking from the overflow hole when put on the side stand (= quite low angle, did of course not have this problem with the previous LH float model (a smaller bore 276, IPWO, but not that good at acceleration and higher speed).
Have lowered the float a little to compensate, but can't really go any lower, and have to always remember to cut the petrol supply immediately when stopping the engine, or else I get some dripping (and I
hate petrol on the mag! ...or catching fire in the midst of town :O). Also the tickover is quite affected when getting the bike vertical.
Is this to be expected with a RH float + sidestand angle (and am I having to adapt to some new routines, and maybe install a drip shield) ?
