Gearbox plunger adjuster oil leak
« on: 27.01. 2023 19:19 »
Hi everyone

I’m new here, so thanks in advance for your input.
I have a 1961 BSA A10 650cc Super Rocket, and a 1950 B31 350cc.

I’m currently dealing to a few oil leaks on the super rocket.
One is coming from the gearbox plunger adjuster. I assumed this would have a sealing washer behind the locknut, but when I removed it, there’s nothing.
I checked the Haynes workshop manual and it doesn’t show one either.
Can anyone please tell me if they’ve used a fibre / copper washer behind the lock but here successfully please. Cheers

G'day Fat Dell  *welcome*
That is correct the parts list doesn't show a washer. I always use a thread sealant (Loctite 567).
Cheers
