Snowflakes. Pun included - what's up? They race bikes on ice. Having said that, I don't go out under 10deg C (that's + not - ).......... *smile*

I was a despatch rider for 20 years so i reckon i've earned the right not to go out in certain types of weather.  *bright idea*

Still riding, it's a mental disease thing. Like the way the weatherman man say's "high's of 2 degrees".

Me, I'm a fair weather only bloke. My days of riding in snow, ice, rain or even anything considered more than a pleasant breeze are well n truly behind me.
Did dispatch work in London through a couple of seriously harsh winters, rode every day to work for decades. Pleasure only nowadays thanks.

When 'younger' I did ride both in snow (crazy) and shortly after they had cleared the snow, survived lots of madness, but damn, the results of salt eating up the bike...

I'm out with the rest of the Parish Council leading the carols around the village Christmas tree this evening on the village field.

Think I am going to need to wrap up well and stand near the hot mulled wine pot!  *eek*

During this cold snap I'm wearing thermal underwear and layers of clothing.

Like other posters in this thread I've done the hard yards over the decades of past Winters and I'm not intending to do it again any time soon. Pleasure only now, and the bikes are all stood up for the duration.

G'day Fellas.
I haven't ridden any of my bikes for a few months due to my buggered hip
Well the night before last one of the G/sons asked if he could be taken to his primary school farewell (he is the male school captain) on the HD. I said I'd try. Well I did and I felt like a new man. So yesterday I had to go down to the "big smoke" so I went on the HD. Great feeling the breeze again but I could barely walk when I got home but jeeze it felt good!
I'll be a good boy now and wait till after the opp, so that's at least 4 months till my next ride *eek*.
Cheers

Musky, dunno how it works is Oz being as it's not winter there presently, but in UK being 'on standby' gives one a good chance of getting an op around Christmas due to cancellations. If your leg has now healed would be worth advising the surgeon you've available at immediate notice.
Cheers,

G'day RD.
Yes I hope it's sooner. So far three people have moved up the list due to my cancellations *ex*. The wound has healed and I'm wearing hockey shin pads whenever outside/ in shed. My booked in date is 6th Feb then at least two months after that.
Cheers

Good luck with it all Mr Musky, hope everything goes well for you.

Terrible timing as it looks like the rain may have finally stopped for a bit over there in the east, then in 4 months you'll be going into what passes for winter again...

Might have to brave 30 degs (C) tomorrow as I've got a fixed up dynamo to try out, dang its tough here in the south sometimes but somehow we manage  *smile*

It's one thing riding the bike when it's cold. To then camp is proper madness at any age. Hoping to attach a post of a recent camp with 3000 bikes in France. Down to minus 11 apparently!
