Hi All,
I was looking through the list for the H&H auction of 7/12 and noticed this A10 that sold for £3910
If the sellers list of things done and costs is true then they lost their Ar*e on the sale
To my eyes the look of the bike just hurts

The bike looks like the owner had plenty of money/time and didn't know when to stop.
 Surely it should have sold for more than that though.

GB i still don't get it , it has a gear lever on though and how would the other side work the gearbox and the brake

IMO... a set of lower rear shockers & remove the flaring would make it look much better
Other than that I can see nothing wrong with it..
Electric start, disc brakes, & oil cooler are all round are a good modification..   & it's well priced..

It has sat for a while. A good cleanup would have helped - very grubby around the oil pipes. Definitely over the top mods, but I'd have it in a jiffy. Price is low for the mods done, just shows a standard bike is worth something.

G'day John.
Wow what a steal. The owner would have spent triple that just on the mods. Triple hydraulic disc brake and clutch, electric leg, Bunn breather, alternator, remote spin on oil filter (where the dynamo used to be), electronic ignition. Just needs a tidy up and lose that horrible fairing.

Bergs I think he's used a rear set type of lever for the hydraulic rear disc set up with the complicated linkage on the left via a cross shaft as per standard and then another linkage on the right actuating the master cylinder which has a bit of a dodgy angle to it but probably still functions a lot better than the standard drum.

The whole thing is an expensive dogs breakfast and needs a real good tidy up but certainly very good value at that price. You could get most of your money back just flogging off the parts you don't need/want.

What on earth is going on with the high rise rear and the seat all up in the air he must have been rocking a 38" inside leg!

However as Club Registrar I would not allow that bike to be historically plated with hydraulic disc brakes
It has near zero appeal to Died in the wool collectors as everything he has done would need to be reversed to reach the potential value of a SR .
The value in the more exotic models is ( unfortuneatly ) in catelogue correct bikes not bikes modified to make them better rides .

Surely there were better uses to which the mods budget could have been put.

For me the only positive, leaving aside the price paid, is that pug ugly fairing. I had one and it was a winter life saver - never mind the look.

Maybe bidders did not like the frame number stamping.

The wide headstock brace came in for 1961 season bikes at about frame number GA7 11000.

This number GA7 23001 stamped on an earlier frame with narrow headstock brace.

Kind of proves that old adage used when contemplating big mods to an old bike, namely the more you spend making them "your own" the more the bike is devalued in the eyes of everybody else.
I'd have it, but that grandad fairing wouldn't have lasted until the first tea break.

It is not my kind of bike I think the mods are a bit over the top. In regards to the fairing I have genuine Avon handlebar fairings fitted to both my bikes and would not be without them, fitted correctly you do not need either goggles or a visor. That fairing on that bike has been very badly fitted and if that is an example of the workmanship on that bike I wonder about the reliabilty of the mods and their use.

Hi All,
It looks that a longer swing arm has been fitted and then the mudguard / stays and seat  have been moved to accommodate that?
I just think the left right thing with the gearchange is a mistake in the description page ??
The engine seems to have had a mint spent on it,
Who ever bought it got their money's worth in just the engine clutch and gearbox
