G'day Muskrat and Wozza
The B33 is a 1950 the WM20 is a 1940 .
Wozza I see Orabanas name mentioned quite a lot id like to get in touch with him and pick his brains .I do have lathe ,mill indexing head etc so can machine the required bits up but a few details and hints to go about it in right order would be handy .I'm only a newly on here so can't send PM'S yet unfortunatly .The reason I discovered the suzi clutch is my brother also has a b33 same as mine and his has been fitted with the clutch by someone here in WA guessing Orabanda most likely but my brother does does not have details as he purchased the bike like it .
Is the clutch worth converting ? From what I've read its quite smooth and helps with gear change and selecting nutuaral a quite a lot .would this be a fair call
I converted my ‘56 GF and ‘49 B31 to Bob Newby belt drive, both had excellent 6 spring clutches easy to find neutral, light in operation etc, the key being to use a dial gauge in a particular way to get the pressure plate to lift evenly, and to not over tension springs (trial and error).
The main reason to do the conversion was to solve oil leaks 🤬, the secondary reason was ease of doing maintenance (no need to spend hours cleaning off gasket faces, making new gaskets etc, and no more checking and topping up oil in the case on long runs).
