Great old BSA bicycles advert

Looks like the setting is in the USA; spelling of the word checks;  cheques in the UK.

I never thought that BSA cycles had much of a presence in the US in those days? Those "checks" could be like our Co-op milk checks rather than financial "cheques" for payment.

What about the National Cash Register;  an American company? They may have been used in the UK of course.

The Co-op credit dooberies were called tokens, weren't they? I remember my Mum having them. They were like very thin steel coins with text pressed into them.

We always referred to them as "milk checks" and "bread checks" down here.
Earlier ones were aluminium with a central hole, later ones were blue or red plastic things.
Different names in different areas I suppose.
