Concentric 930

After the initial joy at getting the bike go again following a 2 yr lay up things sort of went a bit pear shaped nay way got back to draining the sump , and today she ran again ,3 kick start and a bit lumpy when I got thew choke off . Waited and satisfied myself the oil was returning ,paranoid about that , another kick and away the bike went got my gamey leg over the seat and with screwdriver adjusted the tick over and slow running screw ,finally got a nice even tickover and a good pick up when the throttle was opened .The weather turned to raining during this but the run out had too be postponed but watch this spot or listen to the shout of pure joy when the wheels turn again properly . thanks again for the basic adjustment settings needed ,Bob

Hi Musky, errm its me remember mr disorganised ,I did mark my starting point and eventual position of screw on the carb body ,just a scratch but enough,it took me 2 goes as i was waiting for the oild to return before leaving her ticking over but once that happened it only took about 10 mins and she was ticking over like a good en.  Now for a ride but weather here bloody awful at present. Thanks again mate .

Oh another thing I can defo say , don't start an A10 on 8.25 comp wearing pumps ,bloody hell was my foot sore ,Bob

So I won't ask you to start the 10.5:1 Cafe then.
Is it a "premium" carb with removable pilot jet and stay up float?
I've got my 932 on the A7 plunger almost sorted. All written down.

Piece of *** mate...... when I've got my boots on  LOL !! re type bought back in 2003 so haven't a clue just knew it was a concentric and more importantly turned my A10 from being unrideable to being absolutely reliable .Cheers again, Bob

Hi Topdad,

You should check your float plate because they are prone to stick in the bowl. The corners of the float plate should have radiused corners because some are square and these do stick in the bowel. Well worth checking.

I've heard of that happening on the monoblock's but not the concentric's.

Three of the vast improvements in the new premier carb is it's made from aluminium, easy removal of the pilot jet and the stay up float that is adjustable.

There's also been instances where aftermarket float bowl gaskets have too much meat around the float pivot area, causing the float to bind. Slight trimming required.
