G'day Fellas.
I just put this in my "plunger rebuild" topic but thought I should put it here as well. She's a 51 A7 but with a 57 A7SS top end.
One of the most important settings is the fuel (float) height. On a Mk1 concentric it's 0.210" +or- 0.040 = 0.170 to 0.240. I've found with the slight downdraft of the alloy head it's nigh impossible to go any higher than 0.240 without flooding as the float hits the roof of the float area (carb body). That measurement is in the center of the bowl, that means how high the fuel is to the main jet.
Without touching the float on my new Premier 932 I threw in my height tool and was pleasantly surprised it was 0.240 straight out of the box.
Hopefully on Saturday I'll sneak out to test the main and needle (it's our wedding anniversary)
Cheers
