DHL dropped off a package.  Not as advertised.  Back to the hunt for a crankshaft for 1947 A7 #280

Brandis...   Welcome to the uncertain world of the Longstroke. It really is the outer limits when it comes to the bits.

Any variant of the later Shortstroke Plunger  engine will fit your frame. So that's a short term fix if you happen on a motor.

Forum member Frank rebuilt a Longstroke last year and also had problems with the wrong crank. Plenty of good pictures of the correct crank and good info in that thread.
Search '48 LS Engine rebuild in an entire forum search. Or see Frank's posts. Member ID fffcycles

Thanks Frank. You did a great job with that one....

Maybe another dig thro' that warehouse stock now you know what to look for.

 Swarfy.

Cancel the long stroke crankshaft search.  Found one in Portugal.
Thanks.

There is a pleasant fellow names Jose Cardona.  He has a '47 A7 as well.  I believe he had a spare engine.  He took it apart because he needed other parts and the crankshaft didn't interest him. It's the only one I've seen that doesn't look like it's been sitting in a wet barnyard for a decade.
Frankly, there are a few other bits I'll ask him about. Oil lines and such.

Are you in the hunt for long stroke parts?

Just to say when I was looking for a crank and rods for my 1949 long stoke A7 Draganfly had used ones available and they sold me 1. It was a few years ago but there site still says they have a crank shaft available. They also sold me a pair of con rods. Might be worth an email or call if Jose Cardona cannot help.

Picture of mine attached so I can remind myself I should have not sold her!!
