I used them when I rebuilt my bike 10 years ago. The original steel ones had been left in a box that was under a leak in my garage roof; they were not safe to use again. After a few hundred miles one of the ally pushrod's broke. I changed them all for SRM steel ones. No problems since.

They are Brit made -I bought them in the UK about 35 years ago. I think I got them from Armours.
Apparently the clearances have to be checked hot, not cold as the steel ones.

I’m sure this has been discussed before. The search function may prove me wrong though.

SRM pushrods are solid steel, BSA originals are hollow and much lighter.

Valve clearence is 0,25 mm Inlet and 0,3 mm Exhaust in cold condition.

Its to hard to check the clearence when the engine ist hot  *eek*

At one time many of the dural push rods on the market had an incorrect radius on the ends causing them to wear rapidly (valve clearances grow) and sometimes “stick” in the rocker causing noise. This can be easily fixed in a lathe.

Once the radius problem was fixed the dural rods have been fine for nearly 10,000 miles in my GF, with only a couple of valve clearance checks. I use the standard clearance, so not taking into account the different material of the push rod (which I doubt get very hot).

Oh yes, you've reminded me that I used my electric hand drill clamped in my vice to reshape the radii of the alli ones.

The SRM pushrods I bought for my A7 are solid (there is a note on the packaging pointing out they are heavier than the originals).

It does not make a difference if the SRM Pushrods are solid or  tubed, they are much heavier, as the originals. If you do a lasy Sunday ride with maximum 4000 revs they are ok, going faster you have many troubles in a short time, so my experience.
