I just swatted a wasp before one of my dogs could catch it.

That's enough sport for one day.
Somehow my dog knows not to chase bees and wasps but goes after flies🐕

Non-golf here, but am following most of the big tennis tournaments. Took some time before realizing it's a fascinating sport, getting to 'know' the players, looking at new talents evolve, legends fade away, hoping to see 'that' epic match etc.

Must be exactly the same for those interested in golf, just another ball game.

E,

I'll watch the big matches in the tennis Grand Slam tournaments as well.

BTW, I assume you know that a Norwegian is in the lead at The Open and is the first ever to lead a golf major starting any round?

I used to live in St Andrews. The Old Course was a great place for walking the dog.

As I understand it, the ceding of the land was "for the general enjoyment of the townspeople, " or to that affect.

I have worked for 40 yrs in financial services , which used to be populated largely by golfing types mostly Wa***rs  , I've been offered days out at Birkdale x RBS ,days to the open when held there , also Blundellands crosby also quite upmarket and finally Hoylake on the Wirral to all I declined nicely but if pressed used to use Mark Twains comment  " a good walk spoiled "  often changed  to "Waste of a good walk " can't stand the bloody game now when it was cricket now thats another story ,many a happy day spent at old trafford  or closer Liverpool or Birkdale county ground , not even allowed these days ,damn!!!

Ah, cricket. At school, I inevitably found myself in the left-overs 37 or so down on the pitches on a sports afternoon. I made sure I was one of the 18 or 19 fielders first on and just slip down the bank to the river and retrieve my stashed fishing rod and spend a happy afternoon failing to catch any of the fish that lurked quietly there. Great days!

G'day Fellas.
Not wanting to get too far off topic.
Cricket, ha. Back in the day my bike club had cricket matches with other clubs. We played tackle cricket. The batsman would hit the ball, one fielder would chase the ball and the other fielders would try to tackle the batsman before he got to the other end. The batsman had the advantage of being able to swat the fielders off with the bat *ex*

I know that story
I "played" golf as a school sport in my senior years .
The golf course was a comfortable 15 minute walk from home
So it was go home for a long lunch , tee off in the last 4 , play the first 3 holes then under the fence & home after inventing scores for the final 5 holes .
Around to the girlfriends place for a bit more fun.
