I've just been trying to get quotes for trave/medical cover whilst riding in Spain later this year.  Only found two companies to quote and I thought one was expensive at over £100 but the other quote was over £200.  Just wondered if anyone can suggest any specialist companies?  I've tried a good number of comparision sites and companies who do travel insurance but they only cover up to 125/150cc.
Thanks

Sorry not an answer and I am not over 70. I too am gong to a rally in Spain later this year and I have bought bog standard travel insurance. This is the 2nd thing I have seen where people are quoting details about the bike they are riding. Do we need special insurance  *dunno*, I check my documents again

Having checked on some comparison sites and with some specialist bike insurance companies, I could not find any Travel insurance, not breakdown, which would cover me for riding any bike over 150cc.  As my bike is a 650cc, I would not be covered.  So I suggest you read the small print or contact your insurer to confirm the cover is valid for the size of engine you have in your bike.  I think things have changed over recent years as I used to have cover through my usual travel insurance.

Bike insurance (such as rider's policy) comes in categories, the two top ones > 1,00cc and unlimited. However, this age thing keeps cropping up - might be an idea to remind anyone who refuses you on age about age discrimination laws.

it's not my age but the size of the bike which is the main issue.  Cover is generally only up to 120cc.  Also this is for travel, not general cover such as tpft & fully comp.

This is getting ridiculous.

What's that, the donkey engine to start the main one? There's a 0 missing there somewhere.

Well thank you, I checked and you are correct the policy I took out specifically for this Spanish rally does not cover me to ride my own motorcycle, not even as my main/only transport on the road no competition etc etc. I have upgraded it, original cost £27 for multi trip one year policy. To add grade 4 activities which includes motorcycle riding for machines over 125cc was an extra £57.95, so just under £90 in total (I am 64). It could be worth a try KiethJ www.multitrip.com or call on 0333 355 6181. ps not always the quickest at picking up the phone.

Thanks, will try.  Have found MAG insurance, https://www.voyageroasis.co.uk and    https://www.jsinsurance.co.uk/ have quoted.
£90 sounds a fair price to me.  ATB  Keith

Yes, booked up for both MC Indianos rallies not the MC Piston ones this time.  See you on the ferry perhaps?

Have book Plymouth to Santander so maybe. Taking the van to transport the bikes, cheating I know but a couple of thousand miles in Spain is enough for me (both rallies) and it could rain all the way to plymouth. There are seven locals going and some are going via Portsmouth. I am planning on taking the A7 as she always has to do adventures with me. first riding trip abroad.
