David the Lucas parts book lists the type of switch in the picture. I have also added a scan out of the parts book. I'm not sure but I would reckon the clip (no. 25) most likely goes around the bottom frame tube. On mine I made a small plate, much the same as no.29 and mounted that to the rear footpeg mount hole.
These switches are available on evil bay or probably from most classic bike shops.
