SC cover same as standard?
«

I bought this cover to replace a cracked STD cover I had. Going to build up a spare box this winter.
Its so filthy I never noticed to SC on it.
Is there any reason this cannot be used in place of a standard gearbox inner cover?
Thank you,
Lee

Hi Lee,
this Plate came from a Scrambler Gearbox and can be used at all Swingarm Gearboxes.
But I wonder if its signed only with SC, I missed the T for the needlebearing.
All my SC boxes are stamped with SCT.
cheers Klaus

Hi klaus,
I have cleaned the case up, no T for torrington.
This is what kind of threw me off. The stampings are very clean looking, with no "T".
I will use this cover with a STD gearset .
Thank you Klaus!

Picture of cleaned up plate.
I know the picture doesnt do a good job, but the casting marks are perfect.
And what type of degenerate parts restamper goes through all this trouble and forgets the "T"
Why make a racing box with plain bushings?

BSA made SC, SC.T and SC.T2 gearboxes. Nothing wrong with that SC stamping.

My late brother had a CA T2 on his American import dbd. Presumably for Catalina.
