In the spirit of terrible backyard getarounds, here's an adjustable 'socket' cobbled up when I needed a mega one for I've forgotten what. Goes to 60mm AF, driven by a 2"AF 3/4 drive socket (my biggest proper one). Pads can go on the ends of screws if space permits to spread loads, or the three screws with heads on can be reversed.
Made painfully slowly from not very free machining hex bar, used successfully the once, consigned ever since to the bottom of a toolbox with all sorts of other weird have-a-go one-offs . . . one or two of which even worked.
Really should get out more, I know . . .
