there is no real thing without a kickstart to get you home when your Bloody Stuck Again.

Cost too much to fit one probably, and it's always going to have to have an electric starter.

Younger folks think kickers look cool, until they get to try it on some recalcitrant beast.

For a moment I thought the good old single side  8" front brake was an option.......another look proved my error. Compare and contrast as they say.

Not sure those in the know would trust their hard earned to a single Indian Steel Prop Stand. Nice to see the frame pays homage to the original rear loop design, but to me the top line of the oiltank*  and toolbox should be horizontal, as they are they look a casual add on, rather than shaped to conceal the frame tube. That top frame member is massive, as the weight lies far to the rear of the headstock to  make space to accommodate that radiator.

  In other news.........

I learn that the firm is in receipt of a   £4.6 Million UK Government Grant to produce an emissions free bike.

Norton has changed hands yet again, and one director of the former holding company is under scrutiny for irregularities with the company pension scheme, another has been banned from holding directorship in the future.

All in the Public Domain, makes interesting reading.

This will probably get me kicked off the forum.
Was hoping they would revisit the a65 with their first release. 650 thumper mmm wonder what the vibrations will be like?
My other question is it a British bike or an Indian bike. Indian company built in Britain that's going to confuse some people.

For all the effort they've put into that they made a right dog's breakfast of the rear light assembly.

the rear shocks look so cheap and nasty with the longer swinging arm trail for armchair riding.
however in some of the photos the engine and tank shows promise.
the modern competition is going to be the royal enfield 500 single and that still has a kickstart.
why did they have to try and tap into the gold star name straight away? on a armchair rider as well. an a65 copy would have been less controversial and plenty of development potential. there are plenty of branded retros to choose from and i think the bonneville is the best.

sound like they are calling it a 'DBD' gold star - a "low revving, easy riding bike but with the  essence of the original gold star"  :-\

the announcer from the channel said the sheene model evokes the dbd which it does. does that make it barry the bsa?
given all the emissions bollocks they need to comply with i think they did a great job, might need to get one 🤔

Never really thought much about a new bike,, especially  at my age, but very tempted, think they have done a smashing job, speculation of 100mph and 5 to 6k price tag, when can I order one. Lifes to short

Overall a pretty good job it seems.  For me the biggest detraction is the stance. There's something intrinsically wrong with the smaller back wheel and the over generous clearance under the rear guard. Maybe some higher profile tires would help but the front fits pretty snugly. Maybe an 18" rear wheel and larger tire? Also the seat looks a bit flat and would be more true to the original with a more deeply sculpted look perhaps.
