Spitfire timing
« on: 30.07. 2021 23:07 »
Hello All,
I am in the process of commissioning a 1959 Spitfire Scrambler. I was professionally restored about 12 years ago and put into a private collection, never started. I recently purchased it ( and several other bikes) from an estate sale and I plan to get it running. The spark was very weak, so I rebuilt the magneto, now in the process of installing it. My question is what is the correct ignition timing for this engine? Is it the standard 3/8” BTDC as for the Rockets, or does this engine have its own setting? I haven’t been able to find any info specific to this engine. Thanks.
