Being at home again and on a proper keyboard, thought I'd add the 'nudge' schematic I referred to earlier to encourage sleepy dyns to get up and go.
Some people may find it useful, and I'm half-inclined to build it in on rewires going forwards. On the Sod's Law basis that if you have it you won't ever need it . . . but if you haven't, the bloody thing won't kick in, some dark and stormy night.
An Ariel thing from 1954, so memory served for once.
By the by, just hauled self and memsahib round half of Europe (well, a lot of France and complete circuit almost of Spain, 6000 km by car between 14th and today), and wasn't asked even once for proof of vaccination. Couple of places wanted email or other means of tracing, and hotels have you by the short and curlies anyway if you use bank cards and provide mobile #s, but except the fact that some hotel bars and restaurants were closed (ones we wanted to go to certainly weren't!), it was a piece of the proverbial and we felt welcome every place we went.
Can do without 45°C personally, being an overweight pile of lard, but comes with the territory this time of year in parts of Spain so can hardly grumble, no-one made us go there!
Using minor roads over the Pyrenees we encountered no border checks, no-one even there. Felt hard done by in a weird kind of way, trundling along waiting to be stopped and asked for passports, vax papers, post-Brexit French residence permits, etc etc. But, same as with the 'nudge' circuit, had we not had 'em, we'd have been 'had', sure as god made little apples!
