Hello All, I am delighted that I happened across this forum. I have been an avid A10 enthusiast since having my first Gold Flash in 1971. I currently have 3, a ‘56 Road Rocket, a ‘57 Super Rocket and a ‘58 Spitfire Scrambler. I originated back in Wales but emigrated to Canada in ‘93. Always had Brit bikes, never been without one, but I did go for many years without one until the urge became too great so I made a concerted effort to find one over here. I ended up with the 3, couldn’t be happier. The RR is roadworthy, the SR is close and the SS was purchased from an estate sale fully restored to a high standard about 12 years ago. It has never been started since the rebuild, I am debating wether to run it or not. I am checking it through in readiness to start, but haven’t made a decision as yet. I am not one for showpieces, I prefer to ride them but this one is an original Desert Sled, no electrics, just a highly tuned motor motor on 2 wheels. Fun though ! I have lots of experience with Brit Iron, recently retired so I can concentrate on rebuilding bikes. Currently rebuilding an Ariel Square 4, another long time ambition. I look forward to being a part of this forum, thanks.

Yes, I have the feeling this is a great site focused on exactly what it set out to do. My S4 is a “57 Mk2 literally a barn find about a year ago, had not run in many years. I cleaned it up, went right through it and it fired up and ran really well. Having said that the mechanic in me still wanted to be certain, so it is now a nut and bolt rebuild, just starting to assemble the engine. Attached photo as found.

Yes, originally a farm machine shed, now a bike shed. Much better use!

Right back at you. We're "delighted" you found this place. What took you so long? Uuuh, I know, busy collecting some amazing bikes.

Brandon, Manitoba, huh? Right around the corner from me here in Chicagoland.  ;)  I see Brandon is the second largest city in Manitoba, which makes me pretty dumb for never having heard of it, despite having been to Winnepeg. Google shows the Air Training Plane Museum as a highlight. I'd love to see that.

A couple of photos of the Spitfire, very close to original, frame and engine numbers as it left the factory, supplied to Hal Apzina in California, so one of the original Desert Sleds. This is the RGS motor, but in scrambler configuration. Currently overhauling the Mag, which is why the timing cover is off.

Yes, 2 hr drive west of Winnipeg, the Air Training museum about 10 mins from here. Well worth a visit.
