Hi, just wanted to say hello and thank all for a very interesting and informative forum.
I have been riding for most of my adult life since starting out at 17 with a BSA C15. Recently had a few years break but have returned to the fold. I'm now 63 years young so lots of fun to look forward to.
Firstly bought a 2006 Royal Enfield bullet 500, this gave me back the bug. Have been really enjoying riding and fettling this machine.
Next I purchased from one of my sons his Triumph Speed Triple. Lovely machine .
But as mentioned the bug is back so 2 days ago picked up a lovely a10. It's a bit of a bitsa, but nicely put together with some nicely repaired and restored parts.
Basically an A7 frame from 1960 and a 1958 super rocket engine. It was a super rocket that I drooled over years ago outside the 59 club, and have always wanted.
Now got one.. its dressed up as a Rocket Goldstar and is an extremely handsome machine.
Rides and steers superb, has a twin leading shoe setup which is a revelation, by far the best drum brake I've ever used. It has a few things to do and sort, which suits me fine as I want to stamp my name on it a little.
Main thing is I got it for a very good price and I'm not staring at a basket case. Also very happy it's a replica, as I can fully use and enjoy the old girl rather than just admire it parked up in the garage.
Took it out on Saturday for its maiden voyage and it was amazing. I'm loving it.
Regards Paul.
