thanks

Mag turns 1/2 engine speed, fires every mag rev, but fires once every 2 engine revs (have you been *beer* mike )

PS will you be at the chch rally in feb

thanks kiwi, yeah that was a dumb questions - brain fade moment. not even the b33 is an 8-stroke. been mountain biking in the hot sun. next about to mix concrete... then start drinking.
i might delete the question its so dumb.

Re chch I could be bribed by 6 1/2 decent beers to provide an overnight stop in masterton if that helps  *smile*

That mountain biking is dangerous apart from brain fade there is an issue with lack of protective gear and proper helmets  *pull hair out*

A trickier question is which way does the mag turn  *dunno* *dunno*

that mountain biking is dangerous, Kiwi. not only poor protective gear and extreme exertion, but you instantly forget how an engine works as you get secretly green-ified. Still, the kids loved it so i pretended to as well. mixing concrete in a wheel barrow afterwards wasn't much better. but the after-match was ok  *beer*

behind the dumb question was trying to fit an induction-sensor tach to the b33 and getting confused about the set-up. the tach only measures up to 12000rpm, so not sure if it will work *doubt* *doubt*

I think RR is riding down to chch, not sure of his plans. I'm having January off so back to work for Feb. so can't afford the time.

and, after a good night's sleep, the answer is... clockwise!... but from which end?  ;)

Details on the tach please, my b31 should have one if yr b33 has one 😆

I don’t think your b33 will “bend the needle” on the tach......

one of these Kiwi: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32539324519.html
with this 'PT100' sensor for air cooled engine: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33060746789.html

the idea being a tacho and head temp sensor (as I've blued a pipe before with other stupidity). the tach says it does '1spark per 2 revs' but on a test it appeared to read higher than expected. also the temp sensor goes under the plug but as the plug is recessed on the B's head I'll need to modify that bit or wedge it between some fins. So i'm not 100% sure its a good idea yet. will let you know.
