That's interesting!  I guess Britain got its own version of "Beep Beep."  In the US, it was a Cadillac and a Nash Rambler (assumed to be a Metropolitan), rather than a limousine and a bubble car.  (I looked it up, and apparently the BBC prohibited brand names in song lyrics.)  I used to sing that song with my young daughter at bedtime.  She loved it.
