The one thing that seems to be dodged or just not thought about is the correlation between consumerism and the expanding number of consumers, can't see how any of the measures we are taking to curb the damage we are doing is going to make enough difference if the human population continues to expand exponentially, (there are more humans alive today than have ever lived on earth).
A thorny subject but if not addressed what is the outcome. there would be no room to ride a Mahindra    (desperate attempt to get back on the subject)

I'm not sure that with the full on coming of electric there aren't going to be a goodly number of us who will be out of luck.

We hear all of this talk of all the weird metals the batteries need, the power required, and laid on at every house. Meanwhile electric cars aren't cheap even with the subsidies. Now they would get cheaper as production units rise but they're still going to have to be loaded up with tax to get back what the poor average motorist is paying now here in the UK.

Meanwhile here in Blighty we see the continuation of what looks like a pointless HS2 project and more investment in buses. Feels like maybe we're going to get priced off the road and forced on to public transport. Just maybe.

Battery power is marketted as being green, but what happens to more and more dead batteries that are full of all sorts of nastiness?
